Cosmo Hill is an orphan at Clarissa Frayne, an orphange where boys are used as tools to test dangerous products. Most orphans don’t make it to adulthood, and Cosmo doesn’t expect to. But after an unbelievable stroke of luck, he finds he and his friend Ziplock running from Marshal Redwood, a guard at Clarissa Frayne.
After falling from a building and Ziplock’s death, a blue creature climbs onto Cosmo’s chest and begins sucking the life out of him. He thinks he has no chance until he’s saved by a group of kids called the Supernaturalists. When they find out he can see the creatures, called Parasites, they ask him to join the group.
This was a great book with a lot of action and adventure. Definitely one of Eoin Colfer’s best. [John]
