Here’s the way I think you should’ve put it. Madeline wanted to become a saint because she had done two miracles. Madeline’s second miracle had changed Madeline’s life forever though, her dad was in an Avalanche and Madeline saw it in her dream so she went to a church to save him. When her dad came back though, her father was getting a divorce and was marrying Ava Pomme. So Madeline thought that it was her mom’s fault because her mom was normal. Madeline’s mom’s job at Family magazine suddenly seemed silly, compared to what Madeline’s dad was doing. He flew all over the world to cover important stories. All her mom did was write a column about cooking with kids called “Food is Fun.” But Madeline’s mom’s job created even more changes in their lives. Family decided to send all three of them to Italy, where their father lived, for a month so their mom could research Italian recipes. Finally in the end Madeline understood that it wasn’t her mother’s fault. Madeline understood that now this was her life, and she should concentrate on being a ballerina for now.
