This is the first book of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Percy finds out he is a demi-god. That means he is half god, half mortal. Percy is sent to Camp Half-blood. There he finds out his father is Poseidon, the god of the sea. Percy is sent on a quest with his two friends Grover and Annabeth. What’s the quest? It’s to go to the Underworld and retrieve Zeus’s lightning bolt. If they don’t retrieve it there will be a war – one that could kill mankind. It’s all up to Percy now … [Kittycub123]

After accidentally vaporizing his math teacher with a magic sword, Percy Jackson discovers that the Greek gods are real and that he is a demigod: half god, half mortal. Zeus’s master lightning bolt has been stolen and he thinks Poseidon did it, but Percy knows it was really Hades. I won’t say anything else, read the book! It’s very funny.

Percy Jackson is going to get really surprised over the summer. He is taken away to the best place in the world with people like him: Camp Half-Blood. As soon as he gets there he’s faced with a big challenge. Zeus’s master bolt has been stolen and Percy is the prime suspect. With the help of his friends he must find the meaning of the prophecy and the Oracle’s warning of a betrayal of a friend.

This book is awesome!! The way the writer explains every detail is so captivating! It’s about a boy named Percy Jackson who is apparently the son of Poseidon … therefore all the monsters are after him, trying to destroy him before his 16th birthday so the prophecy doesn’t come true. What prophecy, you ask? Read the book to find out.

Percy Jackson dies sooo many times, it is hard to count. But the series still rocks!

Percy Jackson comes so close to being dead way too many times. Doesn’t he know that Annabeth really likes him? It’s so obvious!

Percy is a normal boy living in Manhattan, New York. He is in 6th grade and has been expelled from every school he’s been to. While on a field trip his math teacher turns into a monster and he vaporizes her with a sword that is a pen. On Friday he goes home after ditching Grover to find that he and his mom are going to the beach for the weekend. One night Grover shows up at the door and soon Percy, his mom, and Grover are fighting a minotaur to get to a camp. To get Percy and Grover safely into camp, she is pulverized to gold dust by the minotaur. Percy is so mad he rips off the minotaur’s horn and stabs it with it. As soon as that’s done, Percy faints. This camp is for demigods or half-bloods. Later during a game of capture the flag, Percy is pronounced a son of Poseidon, the sea god. I’m not going to say any more, so go check the book out and read it for yourself. Happy reading!!
