Piper McCloud is a small town girl, but she has always been different. Ever since she was a baby she has had the ability to fly. She has never gone to school; she has never interacted with kids. So what happens when she goes on her first social outing and she’s determined to catch the ball? She flies for it. Well, that doesn’t go so well with the rest of the town. The next morning her house is infested with the media and some government folks. They offer her a place to be with other kids, to control her gift. She takes the offer, leaving everything she has ever known behind. But what if the school isn’t really what it seems? Will her only enemy become her only ally?
This was a really great book. It doesn’t have much romance, but it’s really sweet. You can’t help but admire Piper’s honest personality. [The SpaceCowboy]

I liked this book a lot. It reminded me of Harry Potter. In the story, Piper is a farmgirl who barely leaves the farm. Although she has no wings, she can fly. After her flying ability gets spread around, the beautiful Dr. Letitia Hellion comes and takes her to a super secret institute with people of extraordinary abilities, such as an eleven-year-old genius, Conrad. Piper finds out that Dr. Hellion and Conrad are not who they seemed at first and for the institute, it isn’t what it looked like either.

I read this book too. It is really well written. I cried so much at the end, I had to keep the box of tissues next to me. I’d also like to mention that Conrad isn’t just a genius, he’s a super genius.

I’ve never read this book, but a friend told me about it and it sounds pretty good. I might read it sometime. (emo)
