This book is really great. It is just as great — if not better than — the Twilight Saga. And that says a lot. Rose Hathaway is a dhampir/ guardian in training. This means she is half vampire and is training to guard her best friend, Lissa Dragomir, when she is older. Rose is fierce, fun, and in love with her instructor, which everybody knows is forbidden. She has to face death, love, and friendship. The book takes place while the school is on a skiing trip.
There is so much going on: love, death, friendship, and the petty high school dislikes of people. It’s the second installment in the Vampire Academy series. It’s also my favorite series. [The SpaceCowboy]
