They are trusted to bring medicine back to Lockhaven, while Kenzie and the others have to pass through Darkheather, the weasel kingdom …

My favorite part is when one of the mice die. He is remembered by all who knew him. Also one of my favorite parts is when Saxon passes through Darkheather, he sees the dead mice who died in the war against the weasels. This book was wonderful and I hope you like it too. Jack is an average eleven-year-old boy in A.D. 793. That all changes when he and his sister are kidnapped and enslaved by the Berserkers. This book was great! It started out fairly slow. You would never expect the twist that is thrown in at the end of the story. I won’t spoil it! I was completely caught off guard. This book is a must read for everyone. [X]

They search for the merchant who was the owner of this cart and find that he was killed by a snake – and also discover that he was a traitor because they found a stolen map of Lockhaven in his grain. They continue their journey in search of the mouse that betrayed the guard …

My favorite character is Saxon because he’s always ready for action and his ideas are funny. Also his personality is the opposite of Kenzie’s, but they are best friends. Like all books, one of the best parts is when the bad guy is defeated, and in this book there’s more than one bad guy. Personally, my favorite part is when Liam defeats the snake. This book is very funny and enjoyable, so I hope you will read it and enjoy it as much as I did. Book 1 of the Mouse Guard series. [Kenzie]

I loved this book! I read it three times already! I highly recommend it to people who like adventure, science, and maybe pirates. [Fried Ice Cream 103]

It was hard sometimes to find the clues. My favorite characters were Dan and Amy because they had to find the clues. [SR]

Blade: Playing Dead

There’s a fourteen-year-old boy who’s been a slick criminal his whole life. He’s the best there is – smart, sly, and so dangerous that he’s called Blade. Many tragedies happen and there are lots of deaths. The ending is quite a surprise.

I loved this book. It kept me interested the whole time! I was hooked because it was so captivating. Blade is a cool, clever, crazy criminal. No one could ever compete with him. If there’s someone to be scared of, it’s him. I really wanted to read this book over and over again. There were so many intriguing surprises! It was really sad at some parts and the ending was … Well, if you want to know the ending, then read it! You’re sure to love it. [moomoomoo222]

This story takes place in North America during the French and Indian War and follows the journey of a scout named Hawkeye and the daughters of General Munro, Cora and Alice. Hawkeye is traveling with a party of two Native Americans, Chingachgook and his son Uncas. They are the last surviving members of the Mohican tribe. Their lives are put in even more danger when Cora and Alice are kidnapped by the deceiving Huron, Magua. It’s now up to Hawkeye and his allies to save the two before it’s too late.

Awesome! Although this book was written over a hundred years ago, it is definitely a book that I couldn’t put down. A few words and phrases made it a bit difficult to understand, but the reader will get used to it. The plot was in such an unusual setting too; it just really interested me. The pictures in the book were so colorful and vivid. It gives the reader a clear picture of the setting. For those who love great adventures and heroes, this book is for you! [Wild Pancake]

I liked this book a lot! Sometimes I would think about what I would do in this kind of situation. If you look closely at each chapter, the snow in the background gets higher and higher as the book goes on. I thought that was really cool. [MultiTalentedNerd:P]

Katrina Katrell lives with her aunt, Mrs. Krabone. She saw a strange creature and tried to tell her aunt, but just got scolded. The creature was called a zorgle named Morty. Morty and Katrina work together to find the zorgles that escaped from the Zorgmazoo. She meets all different kinds of creatures on the way.

I thought this book was very clever. I liked how the story used different fonts to express the story. I liked reading about all of the different characters and the clever, rhyming word choices. I liked Morty, but I liked Katrina better. [Carebear 443]

There is this kid who is a real slacker and he’s given an assignment to research a disease. At this house they are staying in for the weekend he finds this old medical journal that has some samples in it. He ends up getting infected with a fatal disease.

I could relate to this book well (not the disease) and it was really suspenseful. If I could have, I would have stayed up all night reading it. The book was so awesome!! [ππ]

My favorite part was when Samuel was taught by Captain Smith to use armor and a sword. I would recommend it to everyone. [I Lov Queen]

Hacking Timbuktu

There is this hacker whose name is Danny, and this Facebook group contacts him because they want him to hack into the Timbuktu mainframe to get this deleted treasure map. He refuses to do it for them, then tries anyway. So he and his friend Omar have to try to get to the treasure before the Facebook group and a thief/murderer gets to it.

It was really suspenseful, and there was a lot of humor in it, too. I was pretty much glued to it the whole time since it had so much action. Everyone who likes action should read this book. [ππ]

The Odyssey

This is a graphic novel version of the Odyssey. Odyesseus, a Greek hero, runs into a lot of trouble coming home from the Trojan War, including cyclopses, tidal waves, and evil nymphs. He also has problems when he returns home after many years of being away.

I thought this book was good. The illustrations were really lifelike and detailed. I especially liked how the author outlined the gods in color. You could tell who was a god in disguise because of this outlining. I haven’t read the real version, so I can’t say how accurate it is, but it was a great read. [pinkfairy123]

Carter and his sister Sadie find out that the Egyptian gods exist and are escaping into their world. They go on many adventures, fighting demons and trying to find the Red Lord. The story ends just after they fight and defeat him, and discover their next enemy.

I really liked this book because you didn’t know what was about to happen and it kept you in suspense. It was also funny and had a lot of action. This is a very good book. [nkalod9579]

I really like this book because it shows that you should stand up for yourself. You shouldn’t rob anyone, but you need to take a stand. It is also a very good book of the Swindle series. I suggest that everyone read it. [AGA]

There is a huge beast in the ocean and a group of sailors trying to bring it down, but when they found the Beast was it really a beast? Can they bring whatever it is down? It was a nice classic. I enjoyed this action-filled, adventure-packed, awesome book! I would recommend it to anyone. [(<_>) HI]

Alabama Moon

Moon Blake is ten years old and he lived with his dad in the woods. Then his dad died and he is left alone to survive in the forest. He meets some people (after being taken away from his home) who help him to escape from the orphanage and hide out for awhile. One of the people gets sicks and later dies. Moon is in a pickle. He gets convicted of murder and assault. Is he able to clear his name? Will he be able to live with his uncle?

This was a touching story of love, friendship, and trust. It was an awesome story, especially when Moon beats up the constable five times! [Guesswho]

I liked this book because it was suspenseful. It also had a lot of action in it. If you like action and mystery books, then you should read Heroes. [Orange stuff 3]

In the final book of this series, Mr. Curtain is back and determined to possess his beloved Whisperer again also. This time he has figured everything out and even almost succeeds after capturing all the members of the Mysterious Benedict Society (Reynie, Kate, Sticky, and Constance). However, there has been a new development in the Society that is good help indeed. Constance has the ability to read minds and transmit thoughts! Using her ability, she sends messages to Mr. Benedict, who is then able to come to the childrens’ aid.

I loved this book because it was different from the two books before it. I like how it included practical aspects like a failed escape attempt. There were new interesting events like Constance and her new ability to read minds. I also like how this book incorporates intellectual problem solving and decision making with lots of action!
