You won’t get scolded. You won’t get a beating. Death seems like a reasonable choice in Greaver Hall. A lot of it has been going on there. Fourteen-year-old Abi suffers a day-to-day basis of work and boredom. The housekeeper, Mrs. Lillian Cotton, is strict and uptight, so why not have a little fun? Maybe trick her into thinking her dead sister’s ghost is haunting her. But when the prank goes too far, a different spirit visits the house – one with no good intention.

This book was amazing, great, spectacular! I loved it so much, and the ending, oh the ending! It was shocking, a major twist. Like a giant crescendo in a great musical piece, it ended with a big bang. I highly recommend this book. The writing style and words make it seem like the reader is in the late 1800s. I loved it, so should you!

Hal is a fifteen-year-old boy whose sister, Charlie, was in a terrible accident. He can hear her in spirit. He meets Jackie who is Pete’s younger sister. Pete was Charlie’s old boyfriend. Hal thinks Pete has something to do with her accident.

I found this book to be full of suspense. It kept me reading all the way to the end. The mysteriousness of who caused Charlie’s accident was very intriguing. I also thought how nice it was that Hal was very concerned for his sister. [wil7001]

She came to Allie because they have a lot in common, and Lucy wants to bring her murderer to justice. How much of a challenge can 11-year-old Allie take? I like this book because it was full of action and suspense. If you like mysteries you’ll love this book! [bubbleguppies354]

What video, you ask? What rumors? Well a group of kids, kids you’d never think would look at each other, get together to film a video. Now Derik needs this video so he can win a contest and become a hit filmmaker. Greta and Tony, the theatre geeks and love birds, are in it for the experience. Ms. Goody-Two-Shoes, Liza, has to go just to get into the only college her parents want her to go to, Harvard. Chet the class clown goes … for the thrills. And Mimi, she’s the Goth, the no-friends loser, and all she wants is to find out about her grandmother … and gets more. They discover the spirit of Christine Bell haunting them, and find horrifying secrets that will leave you wiping the sweat off your brow.

I really liked this book. It was full of suspense, and every time someone screamed you would jump yourself as if you were actually in the book. The only thing that bothered me was that a couple of chapters were told from one person’s viewpoint, then it suddenly changed into someone else’s, so I got confused often. Don’t let that stop you, though; read it! [Rocky158]

Charlotte wanted to be popular. She’d even made a list of how she would become popular. Every night Charlotte prayed, “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the popular to attend my wake.” It never worked until one time she prayed loudly. In the morning she felt normal as usual. When she woke up and went downstairs, she was invisible. She thought it was cool, but then she got tired of being ignored because she was invisible.

I think it was a cool book because I know it can’t be possible to be invisible. I would like to see how it feels to be invisible. [Blossom Jen]

This guy (Frank Gallows) catches ghosts for a living that come back from the afterlife. When trying to catch a dead dinosaur, he accidentally draws teenager Garth Hale into the afterlife – now Frank will be fired if he doesn’t return Garth to the living. In the afterlife Garth finds a kid who claims to be his grandfather, and while he’s there he grows and becomes 16. He switches clothes with a dead guy and they roam the afterlife looking for an exit. After Garth encounters dungeons, caves, mummies and kings, Frank finally comes to the rescue.

I really like this book – it’s very funny and clear. It’s a graphic novel that makes you feel like you can see, as if you’re in the story. And it’s a really good story. [master37400]

Ali goes to a summerhouse in Maine with her Aunt Dulcie and cousin Emma. One day Emma met a “friend.” She said her name was Sissy. What Ali and Emma didn’t know was that Sissy was a ghost. Her Aunt Dulcie and mom were with her when she drowned.

This book had a pretty good plot, but it was kind of predictable. Her descriptions were scary; a good job with imagery. Any reader who wants to have creepy images put into their mind, should read this. It’s predictable and ends nicely. If you don’t like gore, but like ghosts, then this book is for you! Other books like this are the Guilda Joyce series books. They are not as predictable. [Cookie Vamp]

Zach, his dad, his dad’s new girlfriend, and Zipper (Zach’s new dog) move to a new house. This house has a weird tree in front of it. This tree has killed many before, and Zach is on its “to kill list.” Will Zach be another newspaper article on “Tree Kills Again?”

I liked this book a lot, mostly for its actions. What I did not like was that every chapter was about somebody else. So it was kind of confusing. I would suggest readers who like action and comedy to read this book. There’s a lot of action, like the time they were being chased by a spirit in a graveyard. Oh yeah, scary! [chocolate_lover1998]
