Ashley and her mother have just moved to a new property after her father died, even though Monkton Mill technically belongs to their elderly neighbor, Miss Cooper, who hates cats. While playing outside, Ash and Kristi discover a garden. Throughout the story, while exploring the garden, they find a white cat and a mysterious doll. Kristi tells her a very scary story. Ashley now believes that the garden is haunted.

I really enjoyed this book. I recommend it to anyone who likes ghost or suspense stories. My favorite character was Ashley because she did the same things I would have done during most of the situations. [X]

Fourteen-year-old Abi suffers a day-to-day basis of work and boredom. The housekeeper, Mrs. Lillian Cotton, is strict and uptight, so why not have a little fun? Maybe trick her into thinking her dead sister’s ghost is haunting her. But when the prank goes too far, a different spirit visits the house – one with no good intention.

This book was amazing, great, spectacular! I loved it so much, and the ending, oh the ending! It was shocking, a major twist. Like a giant crescendo in a great musical piece, it ended with a big bang. I highly recommend this book. The writing style and words make it seem like the reader is in the late 1800s. I loved it, so should you!

Two kids named Jenna and Lucas are sent to a summer camp called Camp Fielding. Everything is fine at camp until Jenna and Lucas find out the camp’s big secret. My favorite scene is when Jenna and Lucas find the cure for the campers. Even though they had the diease they still found the cure. [TinkerTime11]

Will Shaw goes to fight in WWI only to find out that his commanding officer is a vampire. After returning home, he finds out that his captain is going out with his sister. My favorite part of the story was when Will had vivid descriptions while in the trenches. My favorite scene was when they finally reached Castle Dracula. I recommend this book to people who like suspense and unexpected twists at the end. If you’re squeamish and don’t like gore and violence, I do not recommend this book. [Dark Sage 1331]

This story is about demons that kind of look like humans. They go around and murder people. The demons’ lord is named Lord Loss; he gets mad very easily. I liked this book because horror stories are my favorite. I also liked Lord Loss because I like the leaders of bad people. I also liked how the demons were animals as well. At first I thought this book wasn’t that good. It confused me by not giving any background information, like where the story took place. You had to infer it, which I began to like by the third chapter. After knowing that there was a secret, the truth, I had to finish it! I loved this book! It combined the perfect amount of mystery and spine-chilling tales. Anyone who loves creepy books will consider this a new favorite. Definitely a must read! There are many plot twists, you will be surprised and scared. It’s very dark, so read at your own risk. You will be on the edge of your seat practically the whole time. There are many stories in this book. One called “Big Toe” is about a boy who finds a big toe in the ground. He pulls it out and shows it to his mother, who cooks it for dinner. His father comes home and splits it into three pieces, and everyone eats a piece. They go to bed. The boy thinks it’s all a dream until a man enters his bedroom and asks, “Did you eat my big toe?”

This book was good. I kept hoping that the boy wouldn’t die. This book got me hooked! [FD]

This book is about an area of the world called Darkside, which is almost another world, but is on planet Earth. It’s almost impossible for people to cross from the regular world (Lightside) to Darkside because it causes so much pain that it can kill you. Darkside is a place for criminals, almost like a jail, but an entire city. Murders happen every day and it’s okay. A young boy named Jonathan is not like that. He has never hurt a fly, but he’s stuck in Darkside because his mom has disappeared. There have also been two gruesome murders which Jonathan has somehow linked to his mother’s disappearance. He will do anything to find out what happened to his mom. Someone or something is hunting him.

This book was great! It was full of action and there was a surprise in every chapter. It was impossible to predict what was going to happen next. In fact, this book had the most surprises of any I’ve ever read. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes scary, gruesome, murderous stories. This book also has a lot of action and mystery. This is a book about ghosts, ghouls, revenge, murder, and everything else a horror lover could ask for! I love reading horror stories. I think this was a semi-good book. Some of the stories didn’t give me shivers, which is what you want when you read a horror story, but the pictures definitely help it be one of the best. [k9srgr8]

I really liked this book. It was full of suspense, and every time someone screamed you would jump yourself as if you were actually in the book. The only thing that bothered me was that a couple of chapters were told from one person’s viewpoint, then it suddenly changed into someone else’s, so I got confused often. However, Kernel realizes that he is unable to tell anyone of his concerns since no one else can see the lights. The story ends with Kernel blind and alone, imagining Beranabus telling him that this is the end of the universe.

This is a book of stories written by one of the scariest authors, and it was amazing. As you read, you have to figure out the stories to get scared. In one story, I got very scared when a woman was seeing ghosts and there was another black-haired, black-eyed woman staring at them with a black dress. This book is a hit in my opinion!
