Ginny, a girl who is starting school, makes all these different kinds of lists for the new school year. She makes a new friend named Becky Soo. She tries to get back together with her old friend, Mary Catherine Kelly, but fails. She tries her best to make her year fun, but it seems just the opposite happens. Her dad is dead, she didn’t get the part in the “Sugarplum Fairy” that she wanted, and she broke her wrist. In fact, she had a pretty rough year even though she kept strong and stayed healthy.
I thought the title was a little strange at first, but when you finish it you’ll finally understand the meaning of the title. It was a bit sad in the middle of the book. I do recommend it. [carebare 443]

They decide to join the group for the night, and quickly discover one of the Scouts is trying to send them a message.
This book is about a girl named Ella Minnow Pea. She writes her cousin abut her life. They both live on an island where a man named Nollop made a sentence that has all the letters in it. As the letters fall off, the high counsel thinks it is Nollpo telling them to get rid of that letter from their language. More letters fall off and, well, you will see why it’s called Ella Minnow Pea. He he he! [Catherine]

Grandma Ben, Thorn, and Fone Bone have to leave the farm forever and make their way to Barrelhaven, but they meet Kingdok, the leader of the Rat Creatures. Surprisingly, Thorn cuts his right arm off. Since everybody bets on Grandma to win, Phoney persuaded everyone to bet against her. If this messes up, Phoney is really going to be in for it. Second in the Bone series. [Jackie]
Newberry Award Winner Lois Lowry has produced another outstanding piece of literature. Unlike The Giver and Number the Stars, this book is a humorous examination of human relationships. As parents and children try to get rid of each other we learn great vocabulary (thankfully there is a glossary) and see kids learn to change their nefarious ways and become affable and winsome individuals. Will the parents get rid of the kids, or will they meet a chilly end on the mountainside? If you like comedy books, this one’s for you. It’s about a girl named Raisin who made her blog so she could chat with her friend about what’s going on with herself in her new neighborhood. I enjoyed this book because it was funny and I understood a lot of her troubles!
This book is great for anyone with a sense of humor. It’s about a slacker who decides not to do a book report, and for punishment he has to help with the school’s play (that coincidentally is of the book he did not read). When he puts his ideas into the play, things get pretty crazy. Anyone looking for excitement and humor in a book — No More Dead Dogs is for you.
