In the final book of this series, Mr. Curtain is back and determined to possess his beloved Whisperer again also.  This time he has figured everything out and even almost succeeds after capturing all the members of the Mysterious Benedict Society (Reynie, Kate, Sticky, and Constance).  However, there has been a new development in the Society that is good help indeed. Constance has the ability to read minds and transmit thoughts!  Using her ability, she sends messages to Mr. Benedict, who is then able to come to the childrens’ aid.

I loved this book because it was different from the two books before it. I like how it included practical aspects like a failed escape attempt.  There were new interesting events like Constance and her new ability to read minds.  I also like how this book incorporates intellectual problem solving and decision making with lots of action! Overall, this book was outstanding!  [Ork Dork]

I was surprised as I was reading the book about the dangers that the four members of the MBS narrowly escape. Using their wits and their strange abilities and talents, the kids figure out many things and escape danger all by themselves on a trip across the globe. This book really captured and engaged me.
