You won’t get scolded. You won’t get a beating. Death seems like a reasonable choice in Greaver Hall. A lot of it has been going on there. Fourteen-year-old Abi suffers a day-to-day basis of work and boredom. The housekeeper, Mrs. Lillian Cotton, is strict and uptight, so why not have a little fun? Maybe trick her into thinking her dead sister’s ghost is haunting her. But when the prank goes too far, a different spirit visits the house – one with no good intention.

This book was amazing, great, spectacular! I loved it so much, and the ending, oh the ending! It was shocking, a major twist. Like a giant crescendo in a great musical piece, it ended with a big bang. I highly recommend this book. The writing style and words make it seem like the reader is in the late 1800s. I loved it, so should you!

Chihiro Ogino’s parents are turned into pigs. She is a ten-year-old girl. At night all sorts of spirits come into the mysterious town to get to a bath house. I liked this book because I like graphic novels in general. People who like graphic novels or books based on movies would like this book too. My favorite scene is when Yubaba’s baby, Boh, has a little temper tantrum. My favorite characters are Kamaji and the Susuwatari (the Soof Stokers). Kamaiji has six stretchy arms and the Susuwatari are little soof balls that help Kamaji. [raccoonman]

This story is about three girls who have their ups and downs, dealing with gossip, boys, parents and teachers. They are girls just having fun. I liked this book very much. It related a little bit to my everyday life and could help me. I felt like this book catches the image of real teenagers’ lives. It explained how friends deal with breaking up and getting back together. [???]

This comic book has a whole bunch of short stories (in comic form) including sci-fi, fantasy, and some just plain weird. There is a comic about mushrooms, a “perfect” cat, and much more. My favorite comic was probably the first one because it has a very surprising ending. I also liked the comic involving this guy who got stuck in traffic on the way home from work, so he used an alterate “route.” It was a good mix of action, funny, and weird comics. [ππ]

What if you came to school one day and someone was missing? Someone you cared about, like your friend, crush, or student? And what if they never came back? That is just what happened to Clay Jensen. His long time crush, Hannah Baker, killed herself, but that wasn’t the end of her. She left behind thirteen tapes, reasons why she killed herself. Everyone who contributed to her decision got a tape, explaining how they helped. So when Clay receives the tapes on his doorstep, he is baffled. But the rules of the tapes say you must listen to all of them, so that is what he does. He hears each and every story and visits the places on the map she left as he tries to figure out what he did. He wanted to be someone Hannah could trust with her problems, not be a problem himself. By the time he reaches his own tape he despises pretty much everyone else, and he isn’t sure if he will be any different. He didn’t do anything, right? Maybe that was the worst thing he could have done.

I loved this book even more than usual! Although it was sad, it seemed like it could happen to anybody. I didn’t particularly like any characters, because they all helped end Hannah’s life in one way or another, but I didn’t like Clay the least. My favorite scene was when Clay listened to this tape, because it was very bittersweet. Boys and girls would like this book, and it was VERY suspenseful! It reminded me of the song “How to Save a Life” by The Fray. [trh99]

Two kids named Jenna and Lucas are sent to a summer camp called Camp Fielding. Everything is fine at camp until Jenna and Lucas find out the camp’s big secret. My favorite scene is when Jenna and Lucas find the cure for the campers. Even though they had the diease they still found the cure. [TinkerTime11]

Will Shaw goes to fight in WWI only to find out that his commanding officer is a vampire. After returning home, he finds out that his captain is going out with his sister. My favorite part of the story was when Will had vivid descriptions while in the trenches. My favorite scene was when they finally reached Castle Dracula. I recommend this book to people who like suspense and unexpected twists at the end. If you’re squeamish and don’t like gore and violence, I do not recommend this book. [Dark Sage 1331]

I loved this book! It keeps you turning pages. Once you start reading, it’s nearly impossible to stop. Unlike some other books, this book is good right from the start. It may look long to some people who aren’t big readers, but it won’t take long to read because you won’t be able to stop. This book has many parts that are very funny and very surprising. It was surprising when she woke up in a magic cruise ship, bald with random stitches behind her ear. It also surprised me when she found out about Elsewhere and how people age backwards. She was reunited with her grandmother who had passed. Her grandmother took her to get a job. There she found out that she could speak to dogs. She adopted the beautiful, little dog she had met. My favorite scene was when Edward and Bella got married. My favorite character was Edward because he protects Bella in the book. It made me laugh when Bella thought some of the names for the baby were lame. I think readers who love vampire romance would love this book! [the leo lover 4]
